Story:
If you have seen 'Taxi No 9211', then there is absolutely no need to see 'Game', better save your time and money. It's an official copy of the original with a few changes here and there. Compared to the original, the copy is so poor in standard that you get a strong urge to ask the makers of the movie that why they couldn't think something better.
The only refreshing thing about ''Game'' is the acting of Shobhna who works in much selected projects these days. An actress and a danseuse par excellence, she acts well as the wife of the fiery driver Mohan Babu. But Mohan Babu can hardly match Nana Patekar's intensity. Despite superb dialog delivery, Mohan Babu is just a shadow of Nana Patekar. Ditto for Vishnubhardan. His acting is good and he conveys a lot through his eyes. But then again he doesn't have the charisma of a John Abraham.
If you haven't seen 'Taxi No 9211', then probably you will get relief from the fact that this movie has a unique story. Unlike the typical movies of the present day 'Game' treats you to the clash of two distinct personalities.
One, a middle aged cabbie with a short fuse roaming the roads of Hyderabad and the other with a business empire to be inherited, meet on a fateful day. The later asking the former to take him to a court where there is an important appointment that could make him the owner of a business empire left behind by his father.
The time is less and the distance needed to be covered is more and given the traffic of Hyderabad, the cab in question here gets in to trouble. This pitches the cabbie driver and the passenger against each other and the battle starts. That's the essence of Game.
Parvathi Melton hardly has anything to do in the movie except looking glamorous. Sunil's comedy as a bank manager is good and so is Raghu Babu's comedy.
The review of the movie in a single line would be - it's a creative movie but alas it's not original. Sounds pathetic, that's what the movie is if you have watched the original. Watch the fake if you have missed the real.

Story Venu, whose philosophy is to live happily with smile all the time, does not take this issue seriously as he has a matured head. Now Venu goes to the city to find a job by staying at a friend place. There he meets Sandhya (Shaheen), who is another happy-go-lucky girl. During a party night, her soft drinks glass was adulterated with alcohol and she was about to be raped by goons. Then Venu makes a heroic act by saving the heroine by bashing the goons. A happy and inebriated Sandhya plants a kiss on the cheeks of Venu as a token appreciation. Over a period of time Sandhya becomes pretty close to Venu and both of them are fond of each other. During the birthday bash of Sandhya, she announces that she is going to get married soon and introduces Pratap (Prakash Raj) as her fiancée. Venu, who assumed that she was marrying him, did get upset and feels that she cheated him. When asked about his disappointment, Venu tells Sandhya that he loves her for which she says sorry. Even after the engagement ceremony of Sandhya and Pratap, Venu believes that Sandhya still loves him, but she is not in a position to know her heart. Venu pursues his quest for the love of Sandhya. Meantime, Sandhya observes the characters of selfish Pratap and smile-always Venu. Though she realizes the selfishness and cheating attitude of Pratap, she still sticks to Pratap and prefers him. By this time the director increases the tempo of audience wanting to Sandhya to know her heart and go for Venu. Meantime, Venu gets a call from a police station that his sister-in-law Aruna is stationed there. The police grabbed her when she tried going for a suicide on necklace road. Her lover cheated Aruna after elopement and they did not have any physical interaction. Venu gets back her to his home and heals her off all her emotional wounds. Sandhya, who observes the entire episode from a close distance, becomes a biggest admirer of Venu. She feels that Venu is the best friend of her. Just a day prior to her marriage, Sandhya, who caught in the jinx, asks her mother about her definition of love. Her mother gives the golden words of love saying 'Its better to marry a person who loves you than marrying a person whom you love'. Those words change the mind and heart of Sandhya and she decides to get back to Venu and dump Pratap. When she expresses the same to her father, he ridicules her letting him know just before marriage and asks her to marry Pratap at any cost. And Sandhya turns a runaway bride and goes to Venu's house with marriage costumes. But Venu, who has his own attitude and wisdom, refuses to marry her and forces her in getting her back to the kalyan mandap where she is supposed to tie knot to Pratap. Here is the scene poised for the climax! Venu loves Sandhya. Sandhya Loves Venu too. Aruna, who eloped from the marriage hall, is back with Venu. The one who eloped with Aruna is none but Pratap. At the same time, Venu does not tell Sandhya that Pratap is the culprit. Will Venu marry Sandhya or he gets back to Aruna and marry her? So many questions would be answered by a sweet climax only if you watch this film on a silver screen. It's worth all the money you spent! watch here |

Cheli
Actors:Madhavan, Reema Sen
Region:Telugu
Banner:Sri Amulya Art Productions
Music:Harris Jayaraj
Genre:Love
Direction:Gowtham Menon
Producer:Kalyan
Editing:Gowtam Raju
Art:Narayana Reddy
Released: Feb 2001
Story:Cheli in a telugu movie. Banner by Sri Amulya Art Productions. Direction by Gowtham Menon. Producer by Kalyan. Actors by Madhavan, Reema Sen...
Rajesh (Madhavan), a software engineer, is a cool guy whose only pastime is making fun of people and drowning himself in booze with friends at the end of the day. Women are not his cup of tea and so he keeps an arm's length from them. But when he sees Reena Joseph (Reema Sen) dancing with kids on a rainy day, he loses his heart to her.
He manages to find her address and comes to know that she is already engaged to Rajeev Samuel (Abbas), a software engineer in the US. Since Reena hasn't seen him, Rajesh impersonates as Rajeev and manages to worm his way into her heart. But soon, of course, Samuel is back.
Cheli is a musical entertainer and the first half of the film moves effortlessly with some good comedy from Madhavan and his gang. But the tempo sags in the second half as the film reaches its expected conclusion. Reema Sen as the female lead, petite and demure, puts in a wonderful performance. The little girl of Chitram has really grown up and there is a bright future ahead for her. Madhavan too plays his part well, and since he corners the lion's share, Abbas has little to do except for bearing the brunt of Madhavan's pranks initially and Reema's coldness later. There are some good numbers, drowned in the music, but which have been choreographed well.
All said and conned, despite taking the clichéd route, the flick is still a pleasure to watch. More for the simple story-telling and infectious humor than anything else.
